Yellow Hat Safety Awards
The safety of our employees, contractors and the communities in which we operate is an integral part of our business. At White Canyon, safety comes first.
The company requires that its employees and contractors meet international best-practice safety standards, and endeavours to exceed those standards whenever possible.
'Safety First' is implemented by ensuring our contractors carry out, on an ongoing basis:
- safety training, specific to their work functions and more generally in relation to the operation of their workplace
- procedures to identify any safety risks and workplace hazards
- workplace inspections
- reporting and analysis of any lost time incidents and safety issues
In addition, White Canyon has established Yellow Hat Safety Awards and financial incentives to recognise and reward those who show leadership in safety, or excellence in implementing the companys Safety First initiatives.
These awards are made on a quarterly basis and are based on nominations received from fellow co-workers and management.
